Jacoby Brissett transfers to NC State

Just over two weeks after announcing his departure from the University of Florida, QB Jacoby Brissett has found his new school.

According to multiple sources, Brissett has informed North Carolina State that he will enroll in classes in Raleigh and plans to be a part of spring practice.

ESPN 760 first reported Monday morning that Brissett, a Dwyer product, had narrowed his choices to NC State and West Virginia. Brissett had traveled to visit WVU this past weekend with former college and high school teammate Matt Elam, who recently declared for the NFL Draft after an All-American junior year at safety for UF.

Brissett will join new NC State head coach Dave Doeren, who left NIU for the Wolfpack in December. Before running the NIU program, Doeren was an assistant on Brett Bielema's staff at Wisconsin and recruited Brissett heavily.

Brissett spent all of last year as the back-up signal caller to Jeff Driskel after a lengthy battle for the starting spot that lasted through the season-opening win against Bowling Green. He saw action in 9 games in his two years in Gainesville, four of those coming in 2012. Brissett started 3 times in his Florida career, his lone win coming against Jacksonville State on November 17th.

Brissett was a 56.8% passer at UF, tossing 3 TD's and four interceptions.
